GAME 10 RECAP - SAN DIEGO VS. TUCSON
SAN DIEGO – MAY 9, 2019– The San Diego Strike Force (1-9) fell to the Tucson Sugar Skulls (5-5) by a final score of 65-48 on Thursday night at Pechanga Arena San Diego.
Strike Force quarterback Jihad Vercher went 11-17 for 160 yards in the air and three touchdowns. Vercher also carried the ball nine times for 45 yards and a touchdown.
San Diego running back George Moreira Jr. had a 3-yard rushing touchdown in the game. Offensive lineman Jackson Dallas recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown.
Strike Force wide receiver Julian Stafford reeled in three passes for 69 yards and a touchdown, and wide receiver Marques Rodgers caught four passes for 64 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver/running back Dominique Carson caught a 20-yard pass for a touchdown.
San Diego kicker Ernesto Lacayo went 6-6 on extra points and 2-3 on field goals, one completed from 45 yards and the other from 53.
Tucson quarterback Jake Medlock went 8-9 for 68 yards and two touchdowns, while backup quarterback Matt Behrendt went 9-11 for 68 yards and three touchdowns. Medlock and Behrendt also each rushed for a touchdown in the team’s win.
Sugar Skulls running back Mike Jones had 50 yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns.
Tucson wide receiver Malique Belfort caught six passes for 45 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Rico Brown caught three passes for 20 yards and two touchdowns. Jones and wide receiver Jeremiah Harris each caught a touchdown pass.
The Strike Force stay home for their next matchup against the Arizona Rattlers on Sunday, May 19 at 5:05 p.m.
