The Strike Force have re-signed Marques Rodgers to their 2020 Indoor Football League roster.

Rodgers (5-10, 180, Western New Mexico) returns for his third season as a member of the IFL following a 2019 campaign that etched his name in the league record books after he racked up 2,229 all-purpose yards on the season (third-most all-time in a single season).

“Marques is a dynamic playmaker with the ability to contribute at every skill position on the field,” said Strike Force General Manager Ryan Eucker. “His numbers speak for themselves, but what we’ve also seen is Marques really step up as a leader. We’re excited to have him back and to build on a strong foundation in San Diego for 2020.”

In addition to being named the IFL Special Teams Player of the Year in 2019, Marques received First Team All-IFL honors as a kick returner and a 2nd Team mention as a receiver. He led the Strike Force with 70 receptions for 783 yards and nine touchdowns while adding 124 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the ground.

Prior to San Diego, Marques played in five games with the Sioux Falls Storm in 2018. During his collegiate career at Western New Mexico University, where he was a running back by trade, Rodgers earned RMAC Offensive Freshman of the Year honors in 2014 after he recorded 1,296 rushing yards on 229 carries with six touchdowns. He was also named Second-Team Offense as he added 28 receptions for 310 yards and three scores. In his sophomore season in 2015, Marques rushed for 1,283 yards on 217 carries with 10 touchdowns and added 61 receptions for 638 yards and four touchdowns.

Marques is originally from Gardena, California and played at Serra High School.
